Supplier Market Share Reports

Supplier Market Share Reports have been published since 1993 by Townsend, and are the only research services in the industry that provide the kind of detailed demand analysis necessary to answer the most difficult marketing and sales questions. Most of the information available to you, shows data as provided by sellers only ("sell-side"), while Supplier Market Share Reports analyze data collected from the actual converters of the products ("buy-side") coupled with the sell-side information.

Reports are available, by resin type, process or end-use market for North America - published annually in September.  Reports for other regions, Western Europe and Latin America. Each regionally based report utilizes data from Townsend's global Plastic Buyer Profiles (PBP) database that has detailed information on more than 40,000 plastics buying facilities. PBP information is collected during our own in-depth interviews and is combined with our knowledge of resin demand and other publicly available industry information.

Each study assesses resin market shares in two ways
1.  By tracking all resin processor purchases by supplier, conversion process and geography.  
2.  By assessing end-use market demand by conversion process, regional sales & converter size
